Start your day off with complementary breakfast snacks and gourmet coffee at the Botanical Center.  Then board the luxury  motor coach for a cool comfortable ride to your first stop at the Ball Seed Company in West Chicago showcasing wide array trial gardens including: annuals, ornamental, and container plants.  Next stop at the beautiful grounds of Cantigny Park in  Wheaton, where you are free to stroll though the outdoor gardens or take a step back in time by touring the Robert R.   McCormick House and War Museum.  Lunch will be on your own at the newly opened LeJardin Restaurant and Bertie’s Coffee Shop.   The next stop will be at everyone's favorite Garden Center the Planter’s Pallet located in Winfield, where you may purchase a wide assortment of perennials.  Top off your day by enjoying an incredible meal at The Key Wester, a four-star restaurant in Naperville known for their fine dining. Guest Speaker Dr. Marietta Loehrlein, Professor of Agriculture at Western Illinois University and author of Home Horticulture presents “Jens Jensen and the Soul of the Landscape.” 

Join us on Thursday, August 14th at 5:30pm, to learn meet Dr. Loehrlein and learn about Jens       Jensen, a Danish immigrant whose mindful work inspired the creation and preservation of many well-known Illinois parks.  Known as the “father of the Chicago Park Systems” Jensen’s vision lives on manifest in actual green space, to be enjoyed for many generations to come.

$7.00 per person, Botanical Center members are free.  Light refreshments will be served and there will be time to meet and visit with our presenter.  Please call 309/794-0991 for reservations

Shop or Donate to the Great Fall Rummage Recycle Sale:

Located to the west of the Botanical Center in the 4,000 square foot Events Canopy—many great items will be on sale to satisfy the bargain hunter in everyone!

Donations will be accepted September 1st through the 4th, from 10a.m. until 5p.m.  Please take your donations directly to the Events Canopy for drop-off.  (No clothing please.)

Trivia Under the Stars—Friday,   September 12th 7-10PM

The Quad City Botanical Center will showcase the newly landscaped Events Canopy with a fun Trivia Night Fundraiser. Spend a summer evening impressing your friends with useless knowledge and win prizes doing it! There will be a wide array of categories for everyone, from history to movies and lots of things in between.

The price for an 8 person team is $96.00. There will be popcorn for sale and a cash bar. Players may bring chips or other non-perishable snacks to enjoy. Please no coolers—outside alcohol will not be allowed.  To register call Marissa at 309-794-0991 x26.  Advanced payment required—please call by September 1st—tables fill up fast!
